THE WAY WE ARE(15+)

Director: Ann Hui ~ 90mins feature
This multi-award winning film explores everyday life in Hong Kong and follows three individuals, a middle-aged widow (Paw Hee-Ching) going about her supermarket job, her son (Leung Chun-lung) who is awaiting his HKCEE results, and their elderly neighbour (Chan Lai Wun) in the remote city of Tin Shui Wai. The joy in this film is in the joy this trio find in living together.

Director: Herman Yau Lai-To ~ 90mins feature
This film frankly and sensitively portrays the lives of two women who chose to sell themselves – a drugaddicted madam who works the streets and a young pregnant woman from Mainland China who married an old man for the sake of residency in Hong Kong.

Director: Derek Yee ~ 111mins feature
The story of a well-intentioned narcotics agent, Nick (Daniel Wu) deep undercover in the heart of Hong Kong’s lucrative heroin trade. Forced to deal with the hypocrisy and despair in a life of drugs and crime, Nick becomes protégé to one of the key players of the game, “Banker” (Andy Lau). In the seedy underbelly of heroin culture, Nick may find himself flirting with more than the devil.

The latest film from the critically acclaimed director Shinjuku Incident.

This biographical film follows the life of Mei Lanfang, one of China's premiere opera performers. Mei followed in his grandfather’s footsteps to become the most famous opera singer in China who specialised in playing female roles... but success comes at a price.

Director: Daniel Lee ~ 100mins feature
Based on one of China's four greatest classical novels, this film tells the story of a common-man, Zhao Zilong, who fights for his country’s unity and peace and rises on wings of courage to become a hero known throughout China. Now in his later years, the valiant warrior struggles in leading his troops to win his last and toughest battle.
